For decades, Pico Rivera was known for its crops: walnuts, avocados, and citrus thriving in the fertile space between the San Gabriel and Rio Hondo rivers. The two railroads that had opened the area in the 1870s remained a backbone of commerce through agriculture's heyday in the early 1900s.

The postwar housing boom ended the agricultural era. By the 1950s, as farmland became residential subdivisions and family neighborhoods, the city also developed as an industrial and commercial center. Freeway access, rail connections, and proximity to Los Angeles ports and airports continue to attract manufacturing and commercial businesses to Pico Rivera.

A working community like Pico Rivera builds insurance plans one household at a time. Families with mortgages, businesses, or children all have different time horizons for the protection they need, which is why comparing quotes from multiple carriers at each stage of life makes sense.
